Im 27 and while I always joked around with people about the trunks, they never actually bothered me. They were just part of his costume and that was that. If anything is says more about the commanding presence the character had that they didnt seem out of place unless you really looked hard. Thats something nu52 Superman has lost, you just dont get the feeling of respect that everyone in the room has for him anymore.
Issue 1 is available to buy now. I just finished reading it.
I think I was expecting something a bit longer but I guess for $0.99 I cant complain. It was a nice enough read, quickly reintroducing Metropolis and some characters but im looking forward to getting into a proper story.
Dont really agree there. Personally I think we as a group have got better and better over the years at realising that these movies are their own universes and that there will be differences between them and the comics so we shouldnt go in expecting things.
Just to mention, Clint Barton was called Hawkeye during the movie. It seems a lot of people must miss it because you guys arent the first Ive heard complain about that but Black Widow calls him Hawkeye during the final battle when shes on the flying sled thing and needs help.
In the beginning I thought I was enjoying the DCnU but the further its gone along the more im realising thats not the case. The only books I still properly enjoy are Batman, Green Lantern and Aquaman, all 3 which barely anything changed (less so for Aquaman but I would say hes on track from where we left him in Brightest Day.) Maybe Justice League gets a pass but im not entirely sold yet.
Superman especially annoys me. Gone is the character that everyone looked up to and would always say the right thing, I loved that about his character. Now we just have a mopey guy in crappy looking armour.
I really wanted to embrace this new universe and not cling to the past but it doesnt look like its worked out that way.
