Why even bring up this conversation. The answer is because they are bigots and other bigots excuse them because they are too. People attack Christianity because they know it is the only form of bigotry they are allowed to get away with. If they insulted black or latinos they would be labeled racist and would risk losing their job. If they attacked Jewish people they would be labeled anti-Semite and risk losing their job. If they attacked Muslims they would... risk someone finding where they lived and killing them. Attacking Christians is the most popular form of bigotry because bigots are natural cowards.

It would be so bogus if it is Alan Scott. They have sold it as a major Icon. I never even hear of the guy until I switched from Marvel to DC. A major Icon is someone who even those who dont read would know exist. Whether his name is Green Lantern or not, he is not the Icon Green Lantern. But it would be smart if they kept it to Earth 2 the way Marvel Ultimates does with Colossus and Spiderman. If they can make alternate universe Spiderman gay why not alternate universe Superman.

Batman, I say, is always off limits. Batman & Robin with a gay Batman... sorry, that is a big NO. I'm all for gay scout leaders but not if they are asking the scouts to come train with them in their underground lair dressed in a lone ranger mask, green speedos and little elf slippers. That just seems wrong.

There has been gay characters but none with their own ongoing book and I bet they will do it to boost a book that is low so Hawkman or Superboy is my bet. I would say Firestorm but the whole 2 men merging into one hero is a little TOO obvious.

I think it is too soon to know what they will do. For all we know right now, it may play out organically, as it did with Apollo & Midnighter. We won't know until the comics are made.

Name the wager and I will bet you they have him or her come out of the closet with a last page splash of a kiss or some glee worthy monologue or worst have him or her make everything into a sexual innuendo like Marvel did with X-Statix.

I would be willing to wager that it will be handled with at least the maturity and relative grace that the Batwoman series has. I don't see any reason why they would take a step backward to your low expectations at this point.

Maturity and Grace?!? Okay now you are just being a DC apologist fanboy. The characters identity is so tied up with being "DC's Lesbian" that they cant have a single issue without working it into the story. If I remember correctly it was even worked onto every comics title page. And there was always some voyeuristic shot through a window of her naked in bed or a shot through an open door of her pinning some woman against a dumpster in an alley. It was about as mature and graceful as "Dolemite".
