I had heard good things from people about Marvel's new Captain Marvel series and picked up the first trade. Wow, what a complete mess. Not my thing, I guess.

Try new things and don't look back. Have no guilt whatsoever.

This discussion crystallizes why, I, as a rule of thumb, despise message boards and similar types of venues. Speculation, idle gossip, and the like, you know. This board uses to be above this kind of stuff a few years ago, and it arguably still is the best comics-related board out there. But it has still devolved to a considerable degree.

It is what it is, and instead of worrying about it, we should respect privacy and just move on.

While I'd like to know how many comics the author has actually read over the last couple of decades, and I question some of the examples he used, I am inclined to agree with him to some degree. The bread and butter of comics, superheroes, has been pretty stagnant to me over the years.

I never understood all the hype with Mouse Guard. It never did anything for me.
