  • Episode 1316 Talkback: Post Christmas Mishmosh

PREACH IT MATT! I tried to watch one episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY and I couldn’t get through the first 10 minutes because of Sheldon. God, that character annoys me. It’s a shame because I’ve liked Johnny Galecki since ROSEANNE and I do like his character Leonard but Sheldon makes my skin itch.

After having plenty of people tell me how much they thought I would love BBT,I watched at least 10 or so episodes. And it isn't funny. All I want out of a sitcom is at least 2 good laughs per episode. I never laughed once while watching BBT.

Now, how was my last comment 'off-topic'!? He asked whether Blackhawk and Plastic Man were Quality heroes, and I answered him! And supplied extra info besides! And this came out of a post showing Quality comics covers!

    Where was I 'off-topic'!?
People use the buttons to troll. I would be happy if they were just turned off. I was marked off topic for talking about Batman Forever. And for a few months someone was going around and marking all my posts "Dislike".

To me this is the best non-creator owned work from Morrison. And it seems to be unrated. I rarely hear anyone talking about it.
  • Mike Gallagher kicked off the show

I was so sad to hear this announcement today.

When Mike joined the crew, I hated his comments and even his voice! He was a "know-it-all" with strong opinions. But that didn't stop me from listening to CGS. Then I realized he contributed a whole new dimension to the podcast in terms of indie comics and films. His critiques were insightful; his knowledge of how the film industry works detailed; I was happy to hear his voice on the episode intro. But like Peter, Mike will move on. I now listen to Peter's podcast and it is great. I plan to follow Mike to other podcasts so that I can hear his voice once more. I would love to hear a movie-themed podcast from Mike. But other podcasts won't have that familiar CGS banter I'm so use to hearing because I doubt there is another group of friends each contributing so much to a podcast. I've listened to many other comics-related podcasts and none of them have the CGS magic. I feel the Golden Age of CGS has ended.

Agreed. But I would say the end of the CGS Golden Age is when Kevin left. Losing Mike is the end of the Silver Age. So I wonder what will end the Bronze Age of CGS?

This just flat out sucks. Mike brought a knowledge to the show of indy comics that it seems the other guys didn't have.
