Great post, @Dman - I totally agree! I loved the Wonder Woman with pants/without jacket look. I want to buy a Wonder Woman action figure for my girls to play with. I refuse to give them one that's just wearing underwear down there. I may buy the…
1) Congratulations, Matt!
2) A pun for the people!
3) Looking forward to finding out more about this Supershow!
Chris and the gang have a great setup. And with the subscription service (and prices in general), it's a no-brainer if you live in the a…
Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
Don't vote, it just encourages the bastards by PJ O'Rourke
Isaac's Storm was my first - it's excellent. Devil in the White City is my personal favorite; it works as history and as a thriller. In the Garden o…
Just read my first New 52 story! Yes I really am that far behind!
Justice League: Origin HC
Ho, boy, I could not be further from the target audience for this book. I just read the entire hardcover in about an hour or so. And I really tried to t…
All right, y'all, I'm officially in. I just reserved a room at the Kenilworth Inn (two double beds), and I'm looking for a roommate for Friday and Saturday night. If you're interested, please message me.
An imperfect list, in no order (still took awhile!):
Brian K. Vaughan (Y, Pride of Baghdad)
Alan Moore (Killing Joke, Watchmen)
Grant Morrison (New X-Men, All-Star Superman, Doom Patrol)
J.M. Dematteis (Spider-Man, JLI)
Roger Stern (Amazing Spider-…
My favorite era as well, as it was my introduction to superhero comics. The first comic book that I bought with my own money was Amazing Spider-Man #281, and it was an awesome time to be reading comics! Gang War, Kraven's Last Hunt, Venom, Hobgobl…
Lots of good recommendations here. I just bought some of the GNs mentioned here and need to read them. Here's my list based on what I have read (in no order):
JLA: Earth 2: Frank Quitely awesomeness
Emperor Doom: Good call, LibraryBoy. Probably t…
Just finished A Clash of Kings this past week. I read Game of Thrones in book form. I disagree with the Dotrice-haters for the most part. It's not as bad as all that. There are a couple of voices (Melisandre and Brienne) that are pretty bad, I a…
I'm two issues from finishing the third Essential Amazing Spider-Man. This is pretty rewarding, as the storytelling gets better as you go (IMO). I've been steadily working my way through, planning on stopping after the Michelinie/McFarlane stuff …
Overpriced iphone covers. They sounded cheap but the postage hammers you. Anyone know where you can get comic related iphone covers, specifically a red lantern or sinestro corps one?

@Libraryboy: you and I have had the EXACT same experience with Fables. I checked it out from the library, too. I liked the idea of it more than the actual book. I got about four trades in.
@Monkey010101: oh yes. I definitely count it as having read a book, although I pretty much will always make the distinction and say that I "listened" to this or "read" that. I can tell you that I had to learn how to listen attentively to audiobooks …
I haven't seen anyone mention the following:
Caustic Soda - oh man, this is a good show. The guys cover various topics, with a slant toward the dark and disturbing. At times, one of the guys goes a little overboard, but then again, that's part of t…
Saga #1. Stole some peace and quiet last night and read the first issue of what is now my favorite new comic. Right up my alley. I expect a lot from BKV, but this lived up to expectations. Great artwork by Fiona Staples (I can tell she enjoys workin…
Thanks, @Zhurrie, it looks amazing; can't wait to try it. The guy at the shop said it outsells all but two Marvel titles at his store (Avengers vs. X-Men & ASM I think he said). I always find those kinds of tidbits interesting.
I went to a comic book store on a Wednesday for the first time in years today (I live a back issue existence). I went to pick up a "Batman: Tales of the Demon" trade (Neal Adams), and ended up buying a fifth (!) printing of the first issue of Saga.
Yeah, @MikeGallagher and @Sandman, after further thought, it does add meaning to the story for Weyland to be there.
Again, I loved the movie, and will try to see it again in 2D before it leaves theaters.
