After some really good results from my April mycomicshop auction, I decided to put the rest of my consignment books into the May auction. mostly minor keys in this lot:
Seriously still with the flagging? but broadcasting any ebay auction is OK? Maybe we just need a generic FS thread. The fact is this is neither pre-ebay nor ebay.

I wasn't the one that flagged it, but my understanding of the pre-ebay/ebay thread (and I say that it is only my understanding of it, as I didn't start that idea, and I haven't used it myself) is that thread was the generic For Sale thread. Sure, it would have a lot of links to ebay auctions, or things being sold instead of, or before, they went to an ebay auction. But for many users, that was the destination of all for sale posts.
So I would guess that might be why a user might perceive a separate for sale thread as spammy.
(Again, though, a guess.) Personally, I like the single selling thread so that we don't get too many, and a lot of bargain hunters know to look to it for updates, but that is just my preference.
Yep. I propose we rename that thread to a generic for sale thread. Maybe just 'books for sale' or something.
I posted in general bec I didn't want to be called out as off topic in that thread since it isn't eBay and I'm not selling directly.
I don't consider this spam any more than anybody else's post about books for sale.
Done. I think back at the old forum the title was more general than the one made here. But the thread has been renamed to make it more clear that it is not just for eBay or pre-eBay selling.
I think you might have a stalker, judging by the dislikes and disagrees after each of your subsequent posts.
maybe you're right Kevin. I notice there is a disagree where I suggest we rename the for sale thread to be more generic and then an agree when David does it. :)
Other thoughts 1) Again the flagging is ridiculous.
2) As to the name of the pre-ebay/ebay thread, that was the name of the old generic sales thread. I carried it over. If renaming the thread makes it easier to use then I'm 100% in favor of it.
3) To continue on with carry overs the forums always had sales threads popping up, and they weren't problems then just as they shouldn't be problems now. The lack of discerning between "BRAND NAME WATCHES FOR SALE" and a forumite posting a sales thread would be laughable if it didn't happen every single time.
4) I'm glad to know everything went well with the April auctions. I do have one question about your payment, but you don't have to answer. What is the waiting time between the auction ending and you getting paid?
Let me just say that THE major reason I got back on the forum was I thought it was BS that Trev was getting flagged for posting his auctions. This is interesting stuff and he has been discussing the outcome as to inform others of his experience. I found it interesting and worthy of discussion than the normal lists of books in the ebay thread. (Plus - I figured I could earn more flags and dislikes than Trev any day. (I'm a bit competitive that way - :)) )
Thanks for your support. I'm probably making more out of a new mechanism that benefits us than I should. Just irked me a little.
@mwhitt80 - the payment system is awesome. They show you the status of every book. When it closed, when it's paid for, when it ships, and when they've paid you for it. They cut and send a check every week you are due funds like clockwork and with the check is a statement that breaks down the book, winning bid, and the fee. They don't pay you until they are paid and the book ships but they pay promptly after that. I would say there is a 5-7 day average after the book is paid until it ships and a check is mailed.
@John_Steed - thanks for the heads up. I'll fix it when I'm next at a computer instead of my phone. No editing on the mobile version.

and in a forum with active moderators the flagging mechanism has no place.
