Mine have not yet, and they're completely filled with books. I will say that I made the error (my fault) of trying to move one with the books still on it and that cause some of the connections to break on it, but the case still stands with nobody the wiser.
And they hold a ton of books. I believe the case ran about $60, but it's been a while. I own 3 of them.
I use the BILLY model from Ikea and love em. They have a small groove in the back bottom that allows for baseboards so you can put the bookshelf flush against the wall.

I use the Ikea Expedits. I have the 5x5 setup on a whole wall in my den that holds all of my trades and even short boxes on the bottom row and it is flawless for the task. Perfect size, no bowing, I love them. I have the 5x1 bookshelf Expedits in my living room with novels and trades too as well as the baskets to hold toys and other items.
Great topic and very timely for me. I'm looking to upgrade from the Billy model shelves. I have some heavy absolutes and omnibuses warping the shelves because of the weight. I'm looking to move to this...
I have the 2x4 Expedit shelf. It has my tv on top with assorted baby junk stored in the shelf area. I doubt they would bow under anything even remotely close to average use, as Zhurrie has already mentioned.
The other models I can't speak to, though I do have a different tall shelf (something like 8x2) from 15 or so years ago from Ikea that I loaded up with books and is still going strong today.
My shelves from IKEA did start to bow in the middle so (like my crappy mattress) I flipped over the shelf and it was fine. It took about 2 years to make the bend noticable.
I have 9 Billy's in my comics/cinema room and they're working out perfectly 2 years on. Every type of tpc, hc, omni and Absolute on them. Buy with confidence.
Gavi, do you own your home or rent? I had a carpenter build a shelving unit in one of my spare bedrooms which took up a whole wall. Hard wood, no bowing is EVER gonna happen!

Any thoughts or suggestions on this being able to handle the weight?
