I wasn't sure if we'd get one after the lackluster opening of the first Avengers movie, but it has been official. No release date as of yet. Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 are both 2013 and Captain America 2014, so I'm guessing Avengers for 2015, but that's only a guess.
This thread title just spoiled the fact that there would be another Avengers movie and ruined my chance to be surprised when I wander into a movie theater in 2015 (thats how I go see movies, a'la Russian roulette)
Anyone think a few new Avengers will be introduced in this movie?
D-man guaranteed, and most likely Gilgamesh. Heard a rumour they wanted to spin off the Great Lakes Avengers into their own feature film, but there were some legal issues with the X-men rights?

Actually with Thanos being involved we may actually see Nova as it seems marvel is very interested in pushing that character. Fine with me I love Nova!
With Thanos in the picture, can Starfox be far behind?
That would be great! The world needs more Starfox. @Michael777 mentions Nova (which would be KILLER), but I'm thinking Mar-Vel is probably more likely.
Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch as big F-U to Fox, beating them to the punch!
I honestly think they would be better utilized in the X-Men movies. In Avengers, they're just random characters, but in the X-Men movies you have the who "children of Magneto" aspect to play with.
Marvel does seem to be bringing a lot of attention to the cosmic side of things lately... could mean epic things for the movies. If a Captain Marvel does appear it could very well be the forthcoming Carol Danvers version as they do need a powered female to sell some movies.
I would love to see an array of characters, but it is only right to have Ant-Man and Wasp. They are friggin founding members for crying out loud. I also want to see Pym backhand Janet. That would be fun

and then if that doesnt work look for the conclusion to the John Carter: Warlord of Mars trilogy with the final instalation...

Introduced in Thor 2?
Interstellar threat: Check!
Playing on the well-established fact that nobody else can lift the hammer: Check!
Taking advantage of the "Two" in the title: Check!
